Tools & materials you'll need

✓ Drill with appropriate bits
✓ Screwdriver
✓ Measuring tape
✓ Pencil
✓ Level
✓ Step ladder
✓ Stud finder (recommended)
✓ Wall anchors (if needed)

Step 1: Choose your mounting location

Mount the rod 4-6 inches above the window frame for a standard look, or closer to the ceiling for drama. Extend 3-6 inches beyond each side.

Step 2: Mark your bracket positions

Mark exact screw hole positions with a pencil and level. For heavy curtains, locate wall studs with a stud finder and mount into studs when possible.

Step 3: Install the brackets

Drill pilot holes at your marks. Use wall anchors if not mounting into studs. Attach brackets securely and double-check they're level.

Step 4: Hang the curtain rod

Place the rod onto the installed brackets. Ensure it's secure and level, then tighten any set screws to hold it in place.

Step 5: Hang your curtains

Thread panels onto the rod, or attach rings/clips for grommet or pinch pleat styles. Distribute evenly and adjust until balanced.

Step 6: Final adjustments

Check curtains hang evenly at the correct length. Steam or iron out shipping wrinkles, and arrange folds for a polished finish.

Installation tips

✓ Always mount into wall studs when possible for maximum support

✓ Use wall anchors rated for the weight of your curtains and rod

✓ Measure twice, drill once

✓ Use a center support bracket for wide windows to prevent sagging

✓ Let curtains hang 24-48 hours before final adjustments — fabric settles
